canadasvoice:A mother and her 2-year-old son are in hospital in serious condition following a head-on collision in Ajax Friday afternoon.
The mother was driving a silver Toyota Camry heading south on Westney Rd. S. shortly before 4:30 p.m. when the car collided with a Hyundai Sante Fe going the same direction, causing the Camry to lose control, veer over the centre line and run directly into a commercial transport truck heading north.
The driver of the Camry was a 27-year-old woman. Her toddler was seated in the rear of the vehicle. Both had to be extricated from the wreck and rushed to hospital, where the mother remains in serious condition and the child remains in critical condition.
The driver of the Hyundai, 50, and the driver of the transport truck, 24, both stayed on the scene uninjured to assist police with the investigation.
That investigation continues into discovering just what caused the initial collision between the Camry and the Hyundai. Police are asking for witnesses to come forward….More
